CEO, All4Spas, Mexico

Adriana Azuara is the founder and CEO of All4Spas; professor at the University of Tourism; board member of the Latin American Spa Association; and representative of Wellness for Cancer in Mexico and Latin America. Recognized as a leader and trendsetter, Adriana is the creator of Agave Spa and has been involved in over 400 resort spa and wellness projects in Mexico and Latin America.

Brent A. Bauer, MD

Director, Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program, Mayo Clinic, United States

Dr. Bauer is board-certified in Internal Medicine, a Professor of Medicine and has been on staff at Mayo Clinic for 23 years.  His main research interest has been the scientific evaluation of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies that patients and consumers are using with increasing frequency.  He has authored several book chapters and over 100 papers on this topic, and is the Medical Editor of the Mayo Clinic Book of Alternative Medicine.

Joanne Berry

Global Lead Certified Trainer, Wellness for Cancer, United States

Joanne Berry brings over 24 years of professional, international experience to the luxury and medical spa industry. She started her career as a therapist in 1992 in the UK and moved to the USA in 1999 with Elemis as their International Trainer for their USA & Caribbean based projects. Her various positions throughout her career have been focused on business management and education in many different segments of the spa industry including, cruise ships, multiple day spas, resort/destination spas, medical spas and most recently integrative health clinics.  Joanne has conducted extensive training and product seminars, including one project that involved training over 400 staff in all aspects of spa treatments and guest service. 

Manuela Malaguti-Boyle, PhD

Integrative Oncologist, Australia

Manuela Malaguti-Boyle, PhD cand, MHSc and ND, is an Australian Integrative Oncologist with board certification by the Institute of Integrative Medicine (USA). With over 20 years of clinical experience in Integrative Medical centres in Australia, Italy, United Kingdom and Singapore, Manuela is a leading integrative oncology educator delivering training and mentoring to medical doctors and allied health practitioners. Manuela is a regularly invited guest speaker at key conferences both nationally (ACNEM, A5M, ATMS) and internationally (Paris, Barcelona, London, Singapore, Dubai, Dusseldorf) and is the published author of several peer-reviewed papers. Her interview has appeared in consumers’ magazines such as Australia Wellbeing and the Art of Healing. Manuela is a peer reviewer of the prestigious “Breast Cancer: Basic and Clinical Research Journal – Libertas Academica. 

Sharla Charnley

Director, Truly Wellness, Australia

Originally from the UK, Sharla has travelled extensively in her quest for self-discovery and healing knowledge, establishing several successful wellness centres throughout India, East Africa and Asia Sharla has over 24 years in the spa and wellness industry, she has created world class spa treatments for Molton Brown, teaches spa management training and is an experienced spa consultant. Sharla is qualified in an array of therapies, and specializes in aromatherapy,   yoga and Reiki. Prior to founding truly wellness Sharla spent eight years on luxury cruise liners as one of Steiner Leisure’s top Spa Directors. Sharla furthered her experience in 2001 spending 12 months in India at Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry, where she rigorously studied Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga and Hinduism. Most recently sharla studied at Findhorn in Scotland to gain the understanding of community lifestyle, Ecodesign and sustainability.

Managing Director, You Can Thrive, United States

Luana is a leader in the field of integrative health, disease prevention and palliative cancer care in New York City. In 2005 she founded a cancer health non-profit (You Can Thrive) using her knowledge in holistic and integrative medicine to transform the way our system approaches disease care and aftercare. She has presented to the Society for Integrative Oncology on her insights for patient care. She is one of the only practitioners approved to provide hands-on Reiki in the operating room at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Luana is also a musician, therapeutic sound practitioner and inventor.  She maintained a close relationship with Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, former You Can Thrive Board Member, Integrative Oncologist, and proponent of sound therapy for healing. Luana also provides vigils to hospice patients using energy and sound therapy. Most recently Luana has been honored to be chosen for a feature in O, The Oprah Magazine titled “the Beauty of Giving”.

Dr. Paola Gómez Hernánde

Internal Medicine Physician, Mexico

Paola Gómez Hernández, MD is an Internal Medicine physician. Endorsed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico and graduated with Honorable mention as well as certified by the Mexican Council of Internal Medicine. After a few years of practice she saw the need of seeing patients in a more integrative way so she started a course in Leadership in Integrative Medicine at Duke University. She firmly believes in WHO's definition of health which is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. She wants to create a bridge between medicine and wellness industry to achieve this purpose, always based in the best medical evidence available. She sees in Wellness for Cancer an opportunity to train people in to giving a chance to Cancer patients not to undermine their mental and physical wellbeing.

Dr. Russell Greenfield

President, Greenfield Consulting LLC, United States

Dr. Russell Greenfield is a clinical professor of medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He is a 1999 graduate of the program in integrative medicine under the direct guidance of Dr. Andrew Weil, and served as editor for Dr. Weil's new book, due out in spring 2017. Greenfield Consulting focuses on corporate and community wellness initiatives, select product development and education.

She brings her global experience across leading companies in developing innovative business strategies and managing marketing activities, with strong expertise in strategic and operational fragrance and product development.

Alessandro Monaco, PhD

Senior Advisor to the Chancellor of the University, University of Brescia, Italy

Alessandro Monaco, PhD, received international training in molecular medicine at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, and a master’s in healthcare and pharmaceutical administration at LUISS Business School, Rome, Italy. Alessandro is a senior adviser to the Giovanni Lorenzini Foundation, the Italian Medicines Agency and the University of Brescia. His contributions include leading multi-stakeholder, European-level projects with the European Commission. 

elizabeth russell

Senior Holistic Therapist, Calcot Spa, United Kingdom

Elizabeth is a senior complementary therapy practitioner and college lecturer with almost two decades in the field, her focus has remained on supporting people with cancer. Trained at Bristol Cancer Help Centre (now Penny Brohn Cancer Care) in Massage and Reflexology for People with Cancer in 2003, then gaining the Bristol Certificate for Qualified Therapists in Working with People with Cancer in 2004. She has worked as a support therapist in clinical settings since 2003, including St. David's Foundation, Keech Hospice, and Cancer Partners UK. Her 2015 Honours Literature Review focused on Massage Therapy During Cancer Treatment. She is currently designing qualitative research for a MRes in Health and Wellbeing at the University of Bath, on Women's Bodies, Cancer and Touch.

Mariela Silveira, Md

Co-owner and Medical Director, Kurotel Longevity Medical Center and Spa, Brazil

Dr. Mariela Silveira is co-owner and medical director of Kurotel Longevity Medical Center and Spa, founded by her parents. She holds advanced degrees in medicine, medical acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy and nutrology, and is an expert on the latest innovations in medical and wellness care. She is co-founder of the NGO Mente Viva (Mind Alive), which counts on volunteer health professionals to promote the culture of peace and a more sustainable world among children. She is the patron for education at the Healing Summit (Healing Hotels of the World) and Global Wellness Day Ambassador in Brazil. Dr Silveira is a frequent speaker at wellness congresses and summits around the world.
