James Brewer

Workspace Consultant, Steelcase, United States

In his role as Workplace Consultant at Steelcase, James leverages a diversified background in management, sales, strategic design and project management to inform innovative solutions.  He is focused on helping organizations understand how physical space can be optimized to promote employee wellbeing and organizational performance.  Additionally, James is driving research initiatives designed to broaden our understanding of how the built-environment can support employee wellbeing.


Jonathan Burgess

Vice President of Sustainable Operations, The Spinnaker Group, United States

Jonathan Burgess is the Vice President of Sustainable Operations for The Spinnaker Group, a premier green-building consulting firm based in South Florida. In addition to his substantial LEED project experience, Jonathan recently helped complete a WELL feasibility study for a Title-1 school in San Diego, CA. In addition, he is the co-Founder of the Green Veterans group, an initiative partly focused on utilizing the WELL building standard to aid in trauma resolution for veterans through therapeutic building design.


Director, Team Member Development, The Breakers Palm Beach, United States

As director, team member development, for The Breakers, the iconic, luxury resort property located in Palm Beach, Florida, Pat Ciavola oversees training, development, benefits, work-life and wellness programs, café operations, rewards, recognition and internal communication for 2,000 team members. Programs address team members’ wellbeing in seven dimensions. Pat chairs the wellness team and is a member of The Breakers senior management group.

Jonna Graulich

Leader, Workplace Wellbeing Solutions, Humana, United States

Jonna Graulich leads the Worksite Wellbeing Solutions team at Humana, supporting a team of consultants who drive wellbeing strategy and programs for a variety of employers across the country.  She is passionate about creating cultures that support work life balance, high productivity and a thriving workplace culture for her own team, as well as the employer groups that they support.


Joel Hershfield

Manager of Finance, IT and Healthy Workplace Advisor at Materials Distribution Agency, Canada

Joel is the Manager of Finance, IT and Healthy Workplace Advisor at Materials Distribution Agency.   He has over 20 year’s involvement in workplace dynamics.  Joel has guided MDA to become the provincial government leader in wellness. He has presented locally and nationally on the concept of creating healthy workplaces.  He has had several articles published in leading U.S. Corporate Health Magazines.  Through Joel’s efforts MDA is now linked to the World Economic Forum Workplace Wellness committee. His passion and vision is to inspire people to create great, healthy and fun workplaces.

 Maggie Hsu

Adviser, Zappos, United States

Maggie Hsu is an adviser at, an online retailer headquartered in Las Vegas. Previously, Maggie was chief of staff at Downtown Project, a collection of 300 investments across small business, tech and real estate that is aiding in the revitalization of downtown Vegas. She also was director of strategy at Hilton Worldwide and a consultant at McKinsey. Maggie holds degrees from Harvard.


Dr. Fikry Isaac

Dr. Fikry Isaac is founder and CEO of WellWorld Consulting, offering strategic advisory, market research and board-level support to public- and private-sector clients focused on global health and wellness strategies, policies and solutions. Former job titles include vice president of Global Health Services and chief medical officer, Johnson & Johnson, with responsibility for the development of health and wellness strategies, policies, guidelines and services worldwide.

Shawn LaVana

Head of Marketing, Virgin Pulse, United States

Shawn LaVana is the Head of Marketing with Virgin Pulse. He has a passion for finding simplicity in the face of complexity, and has put this to work for more than 15 years while marketing innovative technology products. At Virgin Pulse, Shawn leads the company’s demand generation, marketing communications, and branding teams.

Kelley McCabe Ruff

CEO, eMindful Inc., United States         

Kelley McCabe Ruff, M.B.A. is the founder and CEO of eMindful, Inc., an online company offering live, online programs in applied-mindfulness. These programs provide scientifically demonstrated solutions to major healthcare cost drivers such as diabetes, weight management, and chronic pain. Ms. McCabe Ruff has been a mindfulness practitioner since 1997 and worked as a senior IT executive on Wall Street.  She holds an M.B.A. from NYU. 

Dr. Kenneth R. Pelletier

Clinical Professor of Medicine & Professor of Public Health, University of Arizona & University of California Schools of Medicine, United States    

Kenneth R. Pelletier, PhD, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California School of Medicine. At the University of Arizona School of Medicine, he is Director of the Corporate Health Improvement Program (CHIP) which is a collaborative research program between CHIP and 15 of the Fortune 500 corporations and serves as Chairman of the American Health Association.

Mary Ellen Rose, PhD

Founder & Chief Science Officer,
Institute for Healthy Destination Accreditation (IHDA), United States

Mary Ellen Rose, PhD has worked in the health science field for more than 30 years. An educator, scientist, consultant, published academic and author, she is a subject matter specialist in comprehensive health promotion.  Her work consistently expands the applicability of research into sensible and relevant practices across a variety of industries.  In 2012, Dr. Rose co-founded the Institute for Healthy Destination Accreditation.


Mim Senft

Wellness Director, Plus One Health Management, Optum, United States

Mim Senft, CWWS, GBA, AAI, RYT is a Wellness Director for Plus One Health Management, a division of Optum.  She works onsite for one of their leading financial services clients focusing on wellness and benefits programming, communications and strategy.  Prior to joining Plus One, Ms. Senft was the Wellness Coordinator for National Financial Partners (NFP) and worked with more than 70 companies to help them create and grow impactful wellness programs.   She has more than 20 years of corporate experience. 

Kirstie K. Settas-Jones

Vice President, Health Outcomes Consulting – Southeast Region, Willis North America Human Capital Practice, United States

Kirstie brings almost 25 years of experience in finance and brokerage administration with a background that includes 20 years of corporate health and wellness consulting. Most of her previous experience was with a consulting company that she established in 1996, which focused on organizations with over 1000+ employees in multiple locations.. Her experience covers all aspects of business operations, but was highly concentrated in the health and wellness arena. Kirstie holds an Accounting degree from Chancellor University in Cleveland, Ohio and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Previous roles: Chief Operating Officer and Founding Member/Partner Marilyn Monroe Spas Emerging brand of salons, spas and branded spa operations in key US market areas.  President & Partner Niki Bryan Spas Independent Spa Company, owner and operator of multiple Spa locations at Walt Disney World Resorts.

Michael Tedori

Director of Health & Wellness Division, Grupo Diarq, Mexico

Michael Tedori leads Grupo Diarq’s efforts in operating businesses and new venture investments in the health & wellness space.  Prior to Grupo Diarq, Mr. Tedori held both operating and investment roles at The Gores Group, Quasar Ventures, Enterplast Inc., Blackford Capital and Boku Ikasu. He has professional experience in South America, Central America, Japan, China and the United States. He holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and received a B.A. in East Asian Studies & Japanese Language from the University of Pennsylvania.  Michael is passionate about health & wellness and grew up in Southern California where he was actively involved in the healthy living lifestyle it offers.
