As an innovation in leading wellbeing, the purpose of this initiative is to map out a new function for benefiting people worldwide: a Minister of Wellness. Our aim isn’t to craft the “one right answer” to fit all nations, but to develop a thoughtful and strategic framework that can be used to build a positive contagion for making wellbeing a priority in countries globally. 

Silvia Garcia Barnechea

Global Director, The Happiness Institute, Coca Cola, United States 

Silvia Garcia Barnechea directs the strategy and activities of The Happiness Institute of Coca-Cola, an initiative whose mission is to gather the latest state-of-the-art investigation and knowledge about happiness and how it influences in our wellbeing. In 2010 they held the 1st International Congress on Happiness where reknown experts such as Dr. Valentín Fuster (Director of Mount Sinaí Hospital), Mr. Lyonchhen Jigmi Thinley (Prime Minister of Buthan) among many others shared with the public the latest discoveries about happiness and health.


Professor, University of Oxford Medical School, United Kingdom

Professor Gerry Bodeker, a Harvard-trained public health specialist, has done work on integrative medicine for a number of UN agencies, including WHO and the World Bank. He has been published extensively and is Editor-in-Chief of the World Health Organization Global Atlas of Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (2005). He has worked in Africa for two decades and chairs a research group in an EU project training
African scientists to study the potential of African medicinal plants.

Marianne Hewlett

Chief Marketing Officer, Atos Benelux & The Nordics, The Netherlands

Marianne Hewlett is the Chief Marketing Officer for Atos Benelux & The Nordics.  Atos is a leader in digital services has annual sales of 10 billion euros and is the Worldwide Information Technology Partner for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Her responsibilities include development/implementation of marketing and communication strategies, internal communications/PR, management of the Business Technology Innovation Center, leading the Wellbeing@work internal transformation program and implementation of CSR/sustainability initiatives. 

Tomonori Maruyama

Chief Research Consultant/Manager, Research & Consulting Team, Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co., Ltd., Japan

Tomonori Maruyama is dedicated to new business development and global research on issues such as spa and wellness markets, services, quality standards and regulations. As chief researcher for Mitsui Knowledge Industry, he and his team have undertaken government-commissioned studies of the spa and wellness industry. He is currently engaged in co-innovation projects with inter-business collaboration

Ashley White Judson

Initiative Associate, Minister of Wellness Initiative, United States

Ashley White Judson spent over a decade working in corporate and nonprofit sectors before returning to school to pursue a second career in Nutrition and Dietetics.  She is currently a second year graduate student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs seeking a Masters of Science degree in the field of Sport Nutrition.  Upon completion of her graduate studies, Ashley will pursue additional education/experience through a Registered Dietetic Internship that focuses on sustainability and wellness.
