global wellness day INITIATIVE
According to many studies, depression is the most common health problem throughout the world. The problem often manifests itself in sleep deprivation, stress, poor nutrition, inactivity, obesity, heart disease and more. To overcome this problem and lead a healthier and happier life, we need an inspiring beginning. The name of that beginning is Global Wellness Day. Global Wellness Day is celebrated every second Saturday of June, next year we will celebrate it on June 11th. View our activities and tasks below.
Belgin Aksoy, Creative Director, Richmond International, Turkey
Belgin Aksoy received her degree from the Institute Hotelier Cesar Ritz in Switzerland. She has been in the hospitality industry for 20 years. Her mission is to create a physically, mentally and spiritually better world for years to come. To that end, in 2004 she founded Richmond Nua, Turkey’s first and only destination spa and one of Europe’s best equipped spas. Belgin supports health foundations, leads social wellness projects and speaks at international spa and wellness organizations. As founder and initiator of the Global Wellness Day, she intends to bring her vision to the world. She lives by the motto, “One day can change your whole life.”
Our activities (objectives/goals) include:
- The fundamental purpose of the day is the to make us aware of the value of our lives. Even if it’s just for one day of the year, to make us stop and think, to get away from the stress of city living and our bad habits, and thereby find peace with ourselves.
Some of the specific tasks of the group include:
- Lead the not-for-profit Global Wellness Day, a social project created by volunteers dedicated to living well.
